A Letter from Our President

Dear SWAESS Members,

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is a great honour and privilege to assume the presidency of SWAESS for the next two years.

I would like to sincerely thank you for the confidence and trust you have placed in me and in the entire SWAESS Committee. I accept this responsibility with great enthusiasm and with a clear commitment to further strengthen and develop our Society together with all of you.

The world around us is changing rapidly and profoundly: social media, GLP-1 and other therapies as well as artificial intelligence are not only transforming our patients’ habits, self-perception and expectations; they also have an increasing impact on how we practise, communicate, innovate and teach aesthetic surgery and medicine.

As surgeons, we face important paradigm changes: in the way we interact with our patients, in how we integrate new technologies into our practice, and in how we evaluate and adopt innovative therapies while maintaining the highest standards of safety, scientific integrity and medical ethics.

In this rapidly evolving environment, I believe that innovation, education and the willingness to embrace meaningful change must be among the pillars guiding the future development of our specialty.

At the same time, the fundamental mission of SWAESS remains clear: to provide high-quality aesthetic education, promote patient safety, foster scientific exchange and uphold strong ethical standards in our daily practice.

My ambition for the coming two years is to further strengthen SWAESS not only as a professional society, but as a true community and a leading reference for aesthetic surgery and medicine in Switzerland — a place where experienced colleagues and the next generation can meet, exchange knowledge, challenge established concepts, explore new ideas and continue learning from one another.

Through initiatives such as the Injection Academy (November 14^th, 2026), the Tardoc Workshop (November 21^st, 2026), our In-Training Surgical Program and the next Swiss Aesthetic Meeting in Zürich (June 11-12^th, 2027), we will continue to create opportunities for top-level education, meaningful professional exchange and stronger connections throughout our community.

But most importantly, SWAESS is its members.

Your experience, your ideas, your participation and your engagement are essential to shaping the future of our Society. I therefore warmly invite each of you to contribute, to share your perspectives and to actively participate in the development of the next chapter of SWAESS.

The changes ahead of us offer challenges, but above all they offer opportunities. Together, we can ensure that SWAESS remains innovative, scientifically rigorous, ethically responsible and prepared to lead our specialty into the future.

I very much look forward to serving as your President and, above all, to shaping this future together with all of you.
